Please find below the results of our Asking Price Report for 2012 which shows results for median and average pricing for new listings for the entire year. The year started out with a decline in median and average prices by over 8% followed by gains in the 2nd quarter and a pop in the market by over 20% in the 3rd quarter in both median and average prices. Moderation of prices in the fourth quarter which is typical flattened out the gains for the year on median and average prices. The Northeast, South and West regions of the U.S. all experienced gains in median and average asking prices whereas the Midwest had a decline back to similar numbers from 2010. The international markets had slight decline in median prices but averages were up with some higher valued listings coming on the market.
